A photoshoot with my good friend and dancer Piyali.
This was an interesting photoshoot for several reasons. We wanted to experiment with some motion in the images. She chose the clothing accordingly, and I chose a beach location knowing that we will have some wind which will probably help us. Unfortunately however, the wind was so strong that it was very difficult to keep things in place. The clothing, being very thin, was almost uncontrollable. On top of that, this was one of the shoots where I didn’t have any assistant helping me – which made matters even more inconvenient.
Not anticipating all these, we had actually planned to shoot with three different dresses for a couple of hours, throughout sunset. We also didn’t know that the women’s restroom would be so crowded in the beach that it would take her about 15-20 min to get into a booth to be able to change. We lost a lot of precious time and light among all the inconvenience and delays.
Even thought we weren’t able to do justice to all the three dresses, we could salvage a set of good images from the shoot. Please take a look.
